Dichroic Plugs are made by heating borosilicate glass rods on a torch and then heating and stacking the dichroic glass, before adding the final molten layer of colored glass. After the color has been applied the glass is flame sculpted into its final shape. Dichroic glass transmits certain colors and reflects others, creating a shifting range of colors depending on the angle of the light.
Deluxe Dichroic Plugs are made by first fusing sheets of dichroic glass onto blocks of premium soda lime glass in special computer-controlled ovens. After being carefully cooled to room temperature, the plugs are carved, ground and polished into the final plug design using diamond coated tools.
Color Front Plugs are made from borosilicate glass rods. Colored glass is heated to a molten state on a torch before being applied to a crystal base and flame sculpted into the final shape.
Simple Plugs are made from soda lime glass rods that are heated to a molten temperature on a torch before being flame sculpted into their final shape. Soda lime glass is available in a wide range of transparent colors.
Solid Plugs are carved, ground and polished from premium blocks of soda lime glass. We use diamond coated tools and lapidary techniques to make the solid plugs. These plugs are available in a wide range of shapes, colors and surface finishes.
